Ok, now a little bit about myself :)

My full name is Gitta Gläser but many of my friends call me just GG (so I decided also to sign my art with "GG").

I'm 39 years old and live with my son in Germany/Thuringia in a beautiful little spa between Jena and Naumburg.

(On this point I want to apologize should you find something wrong written or in grammar not correct. I teached myself english the last 6 years trough myspace and facebook ;))

Ever since I can remember, I have loved painting and drawing. For me it is not only profession but a passion.

Beside that i love music, movies, nature, animals, cooking, traveling and everything that gives fun with family and friends.

I never did study art. Many think it's important to say "I did study art" but a good student makes long no good artist. You can learn some different technics and also some theory how to do this and that and on what place etc. but u will never learn talent! Talent is something given from god and you just need to find and do by heart & soul.

My friend who is musician said once to me: "A great musician is nobody who knows the notes correctly and how to play an instrument by that - a great musician is someone who can play the music by feeling without to know one single note and with closed eyes by heart & soul."

I think that explains exactly what i do too.

Since i was a kid i loved painting and developed my talent over the years.

My greatest passion is drawing portraits. My first portrait i painted when i’ve been 8 years old. I got a school award for it and got the chance to show it for some weeks in a museum/gallery for art in Apolda/Germany.

From this time my love special for portraits got woken up.

Every artist starts somehow some day and is not from begin perfect. All you need is talent and you should never lose the love to what you do. 

This portrait shows my sister and got drawn when i was about 12 years old :)

Over the years, between job and family, i used to draw as a hobby artist and never lost my passion. I drew for family and friends and they loved what I did. But still it's been "just a hobby".

My mind got changed when i came to myspace (a social internet portal like facebook) and the great feedback there.

Even celebrities and musicians loved my art and I also got order to do some work.

It was about time for something i always wanted but never dared to do... in my mind was now - to make my passion to my job....a job i would love to do with all my heart...

One of them for example was to create a funny illustration for VW (Volkswagen in Wolfsburg) and NABU (german nature organisation) to bring back the wolfes in German woods and to destroy a bit the wrong fears many people still have.

In the ranking i got place 134 from over 5000 participants.

The last competition I joyned was in the name of Talenthouse and Mark Owen (british singer and band member of Take That) associated to his new album "the art of doing nothing". I got voted place 5.

Trough all these many great experiences and feedbacks I did the step to get from a hobby artist to a selfemployed artist 4 years ago. And even it's not always easy I did never regret it. :)
